Gift cards are a joke

I tried to send a friend a year subscrption of premium Spotify. It never arrived in his email. I emailed Spotify bc of cousre you can't call them. Generic response and after emailing 3 more times they acknowledged a problem and asked for a screenshot of purchase which I did. And sent it 3 times before acknowledged. Again silence however and finally after at least 3 weeks of me sending 1-2 emails a day and finally asking for my $144 back they have just given my friend the subscription. Never again would I give anyone Spotify gift. How hard is it guys to get this right? PS the website shows 2 places you can buy the gift cards in AU and as it turns out both haven't been able to stock the cards in a year now.
