I have a profile on spotiffy for podcasters: https://open.spotify.com/show/3Q1mRhB8e3duRzmWmOJNuv?si=e9524e0e19d24384 k and I wanted to start uploading music to it as well, via the Distrokid platform, but the profile wouldn't pair with the platform and it created a new profile on spotiffy artist: https://artists.spotify.com/c/artist/5o8sZjeilDUEr4guoHr9Ki/profile/overview and I would like all new music to be uploaded to the podcast profile. Because when I want to log in to spottify for artist it logs me in to that newly created account with one song and I can't even log in to that Spotify podcast profile. I can't upload new music there either, so I had to choose another platform, Distrokid.

Hey there,

Thanks for coming to the Community.

What you’ve described is actually how things work on Spotify. Music and podcasts are treated differently, and here’s why:

Music distribution, along with streaming royalties, is handled through distributors. To get your music on Spotify, you’ll need to work with a distributor—that’s just how the system is set up.

Podcasts, on the other hand, operate through a completely separate process. Because of this, podcast profiles are different from artist profiles, and it’s not possible to publish both music and podcast content on the same page.

I know it might not be ideal, but if you’re looking to share both your music and podcast, you’ll need to keep them on separate profiles. Your distributor (DistroKid) can help with getting your music out there, and Spotify’s podcast tools (Spotify for Creators) have you covered for your podcast content.
