Logging into account only through password recovery

Logging into account only through password recovery

Hi guys. Hope someone is having the same problem I am right now.

 

A few months ago, my account was hacked by some person from Phillipines/Malasya/southeastern Asia country, and I was able to recover this account by redefining the password to a new, stronger one.

 

However, since then I just can't log into my account via traditional ways. Whenever I try to log in, with email address or username, I get the message "username or password incorrect", and I even tried ctrl-c ctrl-v the password from a notepad file (same password I used a minute before to redefine my credentials).

 

So, basically the problem is: if I want to log into my Spotify account, I can only do that through password recovery, which logs into the account automatically. If I sign out and try the username/password method, it will always tell me my username and password are wrong whenever they're ok or not. Any help with this will be very welcome!

Hey @ricardofuzeto, welcome to the community!

 

It's odd that the account keeps asking you to update the password every time.

 

In this case, it could actually be the username you're typing, so let's try typing the account's username, instead of the full email address to see if it helps.

 

If it doesn't do the trick, try typing the email address but make sure it's all in lowercase.

Hi Alfredo, thanks for the attention. However, all you asked me to do was already done, even before posting this here. My email is lowercase only, and I tried both login "users", and both failed. Still, the problem persists...

No worries!

 

Just to confirm, does this happen on any device you use Spotify with?

 

If it's happening to a specific device, try reinstalling the Spotify app before trying again.

 

Also, if you get the same error message, try logging in here to see if you can access the account page without updating your password.

Thanks Alfredo. I tried to simply log out and back in right now, and it went allright. Don't know what happened exactly, but the problem seem to be gone now.

 

I was having this issue on the web player via Google Chrome. But it seems to have been solved by itself. Thanks anyway! 🙂
