Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue with logging into the Spotify app. Here’s what happens:

  1. When I launch the Spotify app, I am presented with a screen that offers the options: Login, New to Spotify?, Sign up free, and Settings.
  2. When I try to log in, there are two possible outcomes:
    • Sometimes, I successfully log in, and I see this message in my browser:
       
      Authentication complete You may now close this window
    • Other times, when I change the proxy type in Settings to HTTP, I get this message in my browser:
      Something went wrong An error has occurred processing your login. Please try again or visit Account help
  3. Regardless of which message I receive after attempting to log in, the app does not proceed further. It remains stuck on the initial screen with the login options.

I have tried restarting the app and reinstalling it, but neither solution has resolved the issue. 

Could you please assist me with this problem?

Are you using a VPN? If yes, can you try switching it off to see if that makes a difference? It's also worth disabling the proxy you're using temporarily and see if you're able to log in.

 

Just to double-check - when you're trying to log in in the desktop app, you're redirected to an authentication page in your browser? If that's the case, it's also worth changing your default browser and clearing its cache and cookies. 

 

Do you experience any issues in the mobile app or is this just happening on your PC? Can you also try logging in the Web Player to see if the same occurs there?
