Hey there folks,
Thank you for reaching out here in the Community.
First off, we'd recommend that you make sure that the country set on each account matches the one on the plan manager's account. Members can double check that on their account page. Keep in mind that Premium Duo is a discounted plan for people, who live together at the same address. If you live together - they should be able to join the plan.
If you're the plan owner, we'd suggest that you send the invitation link again to the member, but this time, make sure that they are accepting it on a different device. Don't forget to compare the address to the one that you've entered and double check if they're typing the address correctly.
Tip: We usually advise using an incognito window when accepting the invite as it doesn't keep that info saved.
Here you can find more information about address verification for Duo Plan as well.
@bcasador Your guess is correct. Your country is determined by the payment method you're using, so if you're using a payment method issued in the Spain, your account's country will be set to Spain and you won't be able to join your boyfriend's Duo Plan (in Belgium). If you'd like to change the country on your account, you'll need to enter a payment method that's matching your new country (in your case Belgium). Here you can find more on how to update your payment details.
Hope this helps. If you need anything else, the Community is here for you.
I am facing the same exact problem.
I live together with my Boyfriend in Belgium for already several years, no matter if we enter same address the error message says I am trying to join from a different country. The only problem I can think of might be that I created the account when I was living in Spain and my country says Spain whereas my boyfriend created the account in Belgium (the payment is also done from a Belgian bank account).
I tried to change my country to Belgium and it is not possible. How can I update it to join the Duo account

Dear Lyubica,
many thanks for your detailed description.
Please see my last comment on this thread :https://community.spotify.com/t5/Accounts/Premium-Duo-incorrect-country/m-p/5538786#M1546460
where I explained that indeed i can´t update my payment method since I don´t have a Belgian card that allows me to pay online, and the next issue we have encounter:
Dear @Maxim,
indeed I cannot get my country updated but my boyfriend has a Spanish bank card, he tried to add a new payment method but again the error message says something like ´Your payment method and the country do not match´. Obviously because he created the account in Belgium but now wants to add the Spanish bank card to fix the issue.
We have end up with two duo accounts (one my boyfriend, one myself) which means paying twice without having the possibility to rollback our account to the premium personal account at least as we were before to pay a bit less.
Can yo please provide us a solution here?
Hey @bcasador,
In this case you could leave the Premium Duo that is paid via the Belgian card (because you're both living in Belgium).
The other plan can be cancelled, either through here or immediately with the help of our support folks.
Once the Spanish account reverts to free, you can update the country settings to Belgium (as described above by @Lyubka) and then join the remaining Duo plan successfully 🙂
Hope this helps!
Hi, both my partner and I are in Canada and we've tried to do this sitting right next to each other and have entered the correct address but it still doesn't work where it says the address did not match. We've tried incognito mode and different browsers. The account address on the account and the address being entered are exactly the same both of which are populated from the address find search in Spotify. Is there a way for you to manually link our accounts?
Hey @abhijitsingh27,
Thank you for your reply in this thread.
Are you folks entering the exact street number? If so, try without it to see if that does the trick.
In case the issue persists, please check out my previous reply and compare the countries on both accounts.
Hope this helps. Keep us posted if you have any questions 🙂
I am having the same issue with my husband's duo account. The address is the same but it gives this error:
It looks like you’re trying to join Duo from a different country. Duo is only available for couples that live together. Try again when you’re at the same address.

My Question or Issue
I just upgraded to premium duo, but when my boyfriend goes to the link to put the address it says that we need to have the same address. We both live in the same appartment and we both put the same address but it still doesnt work. We tried to do it on private navigation but it still doesn't work. I tried to cancel the subscription as it doesn't work, but it doesn't give me the possibility to go back to solo premium.
Can someone help me please.
