Payment Failed - 30 Day Premium Trial

Payment Failed - 30 Day Premium Trial

Every time I try to apply for the 30 day free trial of Premium, which is free of charge, I get a 'payment failed' error. My debit card has money on it, isn't expired, and is working everywhere else. I've tried four or five times and I get the same error every time. Anyone else having this issue?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

 

Does your payment card meet all of the requirements outlined in this help page

Spotify will charge the card a £0.00 transaction just to verify it exists (even though it is free), some banks or issuers block that transaction which will cause the trial to fail to be set up. 

 

You might have some luck if you tie your card to PayPal 😉

I have the same problem with two credit cards and while using PayPal I am redirect to the Free Trial 30 days payment page without error messages

Rather silly to have to go through a third party to subscribe, don't you think? Also, PayPal is a trap waiting to happen. Is there any other possible fix to this, or is this it?
