Reactivate the "Sign-Up with Google" option

Reactivate the "Sign-Up with Google" option

I was able to create a new account using the "Sign-up with Google" option on Dec 17th 2021, and activate a family premium account.

I am now trying to onboard my family members, all using Google / Android phones.

In order to do this, I need to create a Spotify account for them before I can enroll them.

But lo ! The "Sign up with Google" option has mysteriously disappeared since then (tried with 3 different browsers, normal and private mode).

I could of course create a "regular" local Spotify account for them. But this would mean remembering / writing down yet another login password, instead of relying on the transparents Google authentication on android phones. All the more as there does not seem to be possible to link a regular Spotify account to a Google account afterwards.

Can you investigate ?

(I am aware this is more like a support ticket, but the chat with support did not lead to a solution, and I don't seem to be able to post in the 'Help' section)

Hi @SvenDubois,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community!

We've moved your post to this help board to give you a more thorough explanation about this.

The Google sign up was a test that ran for a couple of weeks and now it has been removed from the sign up options. We don't have any information if it's going to be implemented again.

So because of this, we suggest your family members create their accounts using alternative methods.

In the meantime, you can check and add your +Vote to this idea that suggests the option to sign in with Google in existing accounts.

If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.
