Recommendations cleared if payments fails

If your payment fails, Spotify clears all your recommendations and you need to start from scratch.

What recommendations are you talking about? 

Your subscription status has no effect on your Spotify playlists or account other than changing it from premium to unlimited/free.

Think it must be "Recommended Albums" there is cleared, it was a friend who told me.
