Spotify audio r*pper

Solved!

Spotify audio r*pper

I wont use the name of it because I dont want it promoted but there is a r*pper out there for the Mac and it pulls all your playlist (drag and drop), album, single or whatever then converts it into mp3/others for distribution.

This is not good.

This could be the death of Spotify if subscriptions suffer.  Again, I dont want to use the name of the app but if Spotify wants to contact me, I would be happy to link them up.  Its very good software, in that it does exactly what it says on the tin but I really think it shouldnt be available.  Its just not good for music creators, it effectively allows people to steal music through a legitimate free or paid account, then distribute.  A pal of mine hasn't used the paid service because he just r*ps all music for free from Spotify and then puts onto his iPod/mp3 player, so thats no sub and no digital purchases, vinyl or whatever for new albums or singles.

Also there is another h*ack using Spotify free on the desktop using a very well known plug in that blocks all the ads, effectively making it free albeit without the premimum connectivity - why haven't Spotify looked at this?

I don't usually get into these type of things but as someone who is interested in making music, I can't watch the industry eating itself with 3rd party apps that surely infringe.

Hey @kbj149,

I'd recommend reaching out to the Spotify Support Team about this because I can't get it reported without knowing the name 🙂

Ok, thanks.  I can't determine from that link which option to choose, I seem to only end up being pushed to the Community or Knowledgebase.  If you email me at [redacted], I'll reply with the name of the software and link to it - how's that?

Ok, got it - understood.

I found it and sent a copy of my post, along with a link to the original made here in the Community.

Thanks for your help on this.
