I am listening to Brandi Carlisle and every song I click on is a totally different song than what the title says. It does it on every song she has. Anyone else having this problem??
Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
Does Spotify say it is playing the correct song (in the now playing section), or do the title and the music not match up?

I thought this was just me. Yeah, it's happening to me, too- at least when I'm in the artist playlist. If I go to one of my own playlists, it works fine, but if I look up an artist and go to their page, a totally different plays from the one I clicked.
Same here!
Songs I click in an artist's playlists are not the songs that get played.
Seems like there's a strange offset. Like every song that plays is actually 20 songs above the one I click.
In my own playlists it works fine.
Try a quick log out and back in or a clean reinstallation of the client - will normally fix this for you.

Yeah, me too
Hey there @Sebast1an1,
Could you let us know which artists and songs you're trying to play whenever the issue occurs?
Any Links/ URI's would be greatly appreciated.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
Thanks & cheers!
Same to me!
Trying (on the app) to play this https://open.spotify.com/album/1OaC6r2de0tlCG2TcwdNUu
and it plays even artists not related at all with my profile, some Greek traditional songs...
Hey folks,
Thanks for posting in this thread.
Is the described above occurring with a Premium or a free account?
The "click-to-play" functionality on a free account is limited to 6 songs per hour and some specific playlists. If it is a free account we're talking about, then clicking on a song to be played may generate an Autoplay queue based on certain conditions like location and listening history.
More on the differences between a free account and one with a Premium subscription you can find here.
If you have a Premium account, a video recording of the occurring issue would be very helpful.
Keep us posted,
Cheers!
This happens to free accounts (mine and others too). I am also an artist and when i post a link of a song of mine to social media, many followers say that when they push play they get some other Greek staff pop singers etc and cannot listen any of my songs. (i liveam in Greece but my music and playlists has nothing to do with Greek tunes). Really frustrating!!!
Hey @Vlavo,
Thanks for your reply in this thread 🙂
Take into account that's expected for free accounts (using a mobile device). If you or your followers try to open the link on the web player or desktop app, it should play fine for free users.
Since free accounts on the mobile app don't have the option to "Pick and Play" a song (except on selected playlists), the app will always shuffle similar songs. You can read more about the free experience on mobile here.
Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need anything else, the Community is here for you.
Thank you for your reply. This answers my question but does not make me feel better. Why should i promote my music on Spotify when 90% of my possible audience are on mobile devices, most with free accounts and they will land on another song (BTW not relevant at all. My music is kinda "dream alternative" and because i am from Greece, they usually land to Greek pop and trap artists. Funny but true, owner of a top Greek radio station called me yesterday to play my song on the radio, because he had listen to someones else's song...)
I hope you soon take care of this
Thank you
Hey @Vlavo,
Thanks for your reply!
We know you’d like to make this an opportunity for Spotify to become an incredible app. We're constantly working on improving the app and the overall experience, so we really appreciate your feedback about it.
We'll be here if anything else comes up. Once again, thanks for the feedback.
Hi again. Another problem this time with my browser version! I have just released a new single "GAZER".
When i go to my song page: https://open.spotify.com/album/5PQuGYvqspTswQs87NIlKA
the play button is disabled. When i try to play the song from my artist page, it plays another artist. I tried logout login again, tried different browsers it's always the same!
I am really frustrated...
I’m having this problem where I’m trying to play a specific song and it starts playing random ones I don’t want
I stopped using the spotify app for this reason, frustrated
This Sporify app is just c...p 😞
Whatever music link I click, I get to listen a different tune. Uninstall and re-install doesn't help. This never happens on YT, SoundCloud, Vevo, Vimeo, and so on.
Nonsense. It could easily be fixed. Since it is not, my conclusion is that it is totally deliberate but I do not get the benefit for Spotify except rushing people out to listen tracks on other platforms.
I have been using spotify for years on mobile and pc but only today the first day i have used mobile in weeks, it just plays some random stuff. It ised to work perfectly fine until today. You guys aren't trying to fix it bit make it worse, so that people are forced to pay for premium when adds already make you more money. When Im working out with my airpods trying to listen to Ozzy I don't want to hear some random hatsune miku garbage. (Happened this very day). Please just let us loyal listeners be able to listen to whatever we want, even if we have ads every 3 songs.
Yes it’s really annoying
Why would I purchase a subscription of my music can't even play right I play it inside just fine then when I go on my phone that app sucks xbox not bad but that makes me not even want it at all people are sucker's youtube is just as bias I'm just going back to zune it's way more convenient I have options even when they think u don't lol it's sad Spotify exploits people s bad as u tube they wouldn't be nothing without the consumer it's happening all over the world u get with it and help us or u get ostracized we won't sell our country for ever
