Unable to merge Facebook account

Unable to merge Facebook account

Hi There,

 

Not sure if anyone is able to help or who has experienced similar issues. I have an old spotify account which I used to use years ago, but recently created a new one, however I'm having problems connecting/merging my new spotify account to Facebook. I created my new account via Spotify with my email address rather than through FB, I went through the whole 'Connect to Facebook' under File and also Preferences.

 

It says it's connected but it doesn't appear to be working, and in the top right hand corner I can see my Spotify username as opposed to my Facebook picture and name. I've tried connecting to Spotify with my Facebook login details but it doesn't have my playlists which shows me the account is not merged.

 

Beginning to wish I didn't create a new account now and just used my old one but forgot about it at the time.

 

Is anyone able to help or offer advice/instructions on how to merge the accounts? In my new spotify account I've signed up as a Premium user so really just want to get these merged, preferably merge my Facebook to my Spotify as it may come to a point where I delete my Facebook in future, who knows.

Hey Caroline 🙂 

 

If your Spotify username is "cazaline87" I can confirm your account is showing as connected to Facebook and I can see your real name and profile picture on your public profile. Therefore logging in using your Spotify username or Facebook details should take you to the same account. 

 

If your client isn't showing your Facebook details, try a quick log out and back in again. Sometimes it can take a little time (up to 24 hours) for the clients and server to go back into sync with changes, so sometimes just giving it a little time is all it needs.

Hello!

 

Hope you can help. I have a paying Spotify premium account and thought I could sign in with my username, isabellev50, or my facebook  account, isabellev50@yahoo.fr indiscriminately.

 

However, as of today, I have started getting adverts when using the Facebook sign in and there is an 'upgrade' prompt in the top right hand corner of the screen.

Oddly, I can still listen to raadio stations on my mobile device (which you can normally only do with a premium account).

 

My isabellev50 sign in is advert free, but I'd really like to be able to use both or at least merge them, as I spent ages making playlists with the facebook one and I can't listen to them on my Premium account, help! 😞

The two accounts you created aren't interchangeable. Drop a line to the account team using the online contact form and they'll help get this sorted. If you get an automated response directing you back to the community or to the help pages, make sure to reply to it directly to speed things along.

I wrote to Spotify customer services who recommended shutting down my free account, but were kind enough to send all my playlists to the Premium one first.

I have created 2 weeks ago a Spotify account via my Facebook profile and added a few playlists.

 

Now that I have created the Spotify with my email (which is different than the one I use in fb), my account results linked to Facebook but I cannot visualizee any playlists.

 

Please advise how to solve this. Thanks.

@domenico-nl - If you could get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and include your Facebook email address in the email, they will be able to get those playlists moved onto your new account for you. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

It is unfortunate to say that I have logged my request twice and I still did not receive any answer. With such support from Spotify I do not think I will ever subscribe to a premium profile.

That is definitely weird, could you let us know your most recent 8-digit case number (it's in the automated email reply) and we can ask to see what happened to it for you?
