I have deleted the extra account that was created when logging in with Facebook details. You should be able to save profile changes now.

I cannot unsubscribe to these annoying emails either. I put all relevant settings to "Never". I have now spam marked Spotify in gmail.

Please *NEVER* do this. When a certain treshhold (unknown to anyone but Google) is reached, the Gmail spam filter will automatically mark all Spotify mail as junk for everyone. It's very hard to stop Google from doing this, unless Spotify already had to go trough the trouble earlier. The spam button is meant for actual spam from malevolent sources, not accidental harmless mail like the ones from benevolent sources such as Spotify.

You can now turn off any emails you'd rather not receive from us with a single click. Just scroll to the bottom of the email and press the deactivate link, as so:

We won't be in touch again after that, even if we have some really funny pictures of cats to share with you.

We're always testing new ways to help you discover new music and we appreciate your feedback. It all goes into making the service even better.

Ok, while this may be a good way of getting rid af those annoying emails you have already said you don't want it does nothing to the problem. The problem is that spotify connects to facebook even though nobody wants it to. If I get these emails I can at least know that something is wrong! If they don't come, I could have a hidden connection without knowing about it for a long time before I realize and does something about it!

Come up with a good solution to stop spotify connecting to facebook instead!

I think this is an outrageous of my privacy. I don't want emails to be sent to people everytime I add a new song to my lists. Where is the setting to deactivate this?

thanks for the tip, but it does not seem to work. I put notification settings from "immidiately" to "never", but i keeps going back to "immidiately" as soon as I save. Quite annoying. any suggestions?

My goal is to get NO e-mail notifications.

thank you

I had a peek at your account from our side. All your email notification are set to "Never".

Can you confirm that some aren't set this way when you view your account Profile ?

Hey Jude,

Could you please remove my double account that I have? It made itself with facebook, but I don't want it and I can't change my e-mail settings because of it.

Thanks!

Done.

I would really hope you have found a way to fix this problem. I didn't go through all 9 pages of this thread to find out, but the first 4 pages had no resuts. I had a friend ask me last night why her husband is getting upates to his email everytime I update a playlist of mine called '' sexy time LOL''. One, not only is that embarassing, but second it makes me not want to use your program because I have no clue who on my Facebook is getting notifications about that. I have parents and grandparents on my Facebook who use spotify as well...... PLEASE FIX!

If he is getting email notifications when you update a playlist, he must be subscribed to it. It could be that he is no longer subscribed but has been in the past, this is a known issue highlighted here.

Currently it is not possible to control outgoing emails, however, your friend's husband can turn email notifications off from his online profile.

Hi Hannuh,

You don't have to worry about these notifications. The only people who will receive notifications are those who have subscribed to the playlist. Since it is not published on your Public Profile, not even Facebook friends will receive any notifications about it.

I too am still receiving messages:

I've got all notifications set to off as well. Probably a double account problem.

I would appreciate it if the notifications would be turned off properly, or my second account removed (I usually log in with Facebook).

Thanks!

Jmiddelkoop - Have you changed the settings inside your 'jmiddelkoop' account?

Who's your Spotify Star?

Yes, I've tried doing that. I also seem to have a double profile.

Jmiddelkoop - You do have two accounts, yes. The settings on both of them now say that you shouldn't receive anymore emails. If you do, please tell us. We'll chase it up.

Could you please delete one of the two accounts? One of them should have my unlimited linked to it, I suppose that one should stay active.

Sure, just done that. I've deleted the free account that you never use. Should sort things out for you.

Awesome! Thanks for the help!

I'm having a BIG problem with Spotify continually sending my great aunt emails everytime I listen to a track.  She is connected to me on facebook but does not have this music service.  How can I get Spotify to STOP sending her emails IMMEDIATELY??  These emails are pissing off my extended family and I don't blame them.

There is a "bug" with Spotify where Spotify users who have their Facebook account connected to their account, will send emails to their Facebook friends. This has happened to me with 3 of my Facebook friends (confirmed), with several emails being sent to them when I add a song to a playlist.

These Facebook friends of mine do not subscribe to my playlist, though all 3 are in fact Spotify users. I'd assume that other Facebook friends of mine have received similar emails "from me."

So far, this issue has seemed to have been ignored by Spotify, which frankly, is ridiculous. There is in fact a "bug."

Other than telling the person who receives these emails to turn off their Spotify email notifications, there seems to be nothing that can be done about this.

Spotify: I pay for your service, I enjoy using it, fix this. Go back and re-read this thread. I'm not the only one.
