Why can't I change my email to one that o recently closed an account to?

I closed an old account with the desired email, because I want to change it to my current one. But it says email is taken even though it is closed.

Thanks for coming to the Community.

After closing the account, it will take 14-30 days for the email address to become available for sign-up again.
