Wrong name top right

There is a wrong name on the top right in my spotify, I'd like it removed. It's not my facebook name, I don't have facebook and I can't unconnect to a facebook account because my spotify isn't connected to one.

Hey 🙂 

Two things to check out:

Firstly, head to Edit/Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook (if it says connect to facebook) you are not connected. It is worth a check, sometimes accounts get connected by mistake. 

If your account is not connected to Facebook as above, then it is probably just data which your client has cached locally. A quick clean reinstallation of the client should clear it out for you.

It's not connected to facebook in the application, can't find any references to facebook on my account page online, it should not be something cached locally as I've uninstalled it locally, removed all temp files, cleared out the app data directory and removed all the spotify entries in the registry.

Looking up your account on our end, it doesn't appear to be linked to Facebook at all.

If you head over to https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/ what is your username shown as?

I have the same problem. I have my friends name in top right.

And if I go to see my account in  https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/

my friends picture is top right but my username is right. How to fix this?

I know my friends Spotify is not connected to Facebook and neither is mine, i don't even have Facebook account.

Help, Please!

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

If you log into your account in the desktop application, do you have the "Disconnect from Facebook" option in the Edit > Preferences menu? Make sure you are logging in using your Spotify username and password (not email address)

Hi, I have the same problem, a friend was logged in to his facebnook and now his name is in the top right corner, doesn't work to disconnect from facebook, restart the computer or reinstall spotify. What should I do ?

Do you have your own Facebook account to reconnect with? If not, what is your Spotify username?

Hi, everything is disconnected, I tried what I was told in the e-mail, but that doesn't work either. What should I do, I still see my friends name and wnat my spotify username to be in the top right corner. Besides, it is only on one computer this is, on the other computers it says potatis95

Hey 🙂 

It should sort itself out, sometimes it just takes a little time for the data to disappear. A quick clean reinstallation of the client can sometimes speed things along 😉
