You can't change username.

Can I put in a request then that you make changing the user name possible? It seems crazy to have to keep a record of that random string of numbers on my phone and computer; isn't standard practice to allow users to choose their user name?

Also, if you log in through Facebook, you can change *that* user name, but I'd rather steer clear of Facebook.

Are you signing in with a 10-digit account number?

If so you must have a Spotify account created using Facebook and there is no way to change your username or disconnect that account from Facebook.

If you wish to transition from a Spotify account created using Facebook to a dedicated Spotify one, with a username of your choice, have a read at my tutorial here.

Many thanks for this. I find this Facebook "lock-in" creepy, but it may not be worth my while jumping through the hoops to disconnect the two.

I wish there was an easier way!

Hi, has this issue been resolevd yet of not being able to change user name? A friend of mine set up my account years ago but I need it changed!! Alternatively, is it possible to set up a new account and copy over all lists and then cancel mine?

Hey! Welcome to the community ๐Ÿ™‚

There is still no way to change your username or disconnect an account from Facebook if it was created that way.

You can use the instructions I outline in my disconnecting from Facebook tutorial, located here to copy your playlists from one account to another.

HI is there STILL no way to change a user name - mine was set up years ago using my married name and yet following a divorce I really want to change it or at the very least set up a new account but take my playlists with me ?

Got everything crossed!

There is no way to change your username.

I suggest you contact support so they can help you transfer all your stuff to a new account. You will need to create a new Spotify account with your desired username, and include that username with the description of your problem when you are contacting support.

https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Goodness, I really want to change it too! It's incredibly annoying to me that you can't change your Spotify username, especially since I connected my account to my Facebook (and am somewhat now worried by how permanent that link seems to be) and didn't choose my long and awkward username to begin with. Blah.

Is there a reason for this impossibility of a username change? It would even be nice if this could just be a benefit of premium, or something. Just a thought, but I'm sure others have offered it before.
