A specific podcast will no long play when I cast to my Google home

A specific podcast will no long play when I cast to my Google home

A podcast I typically cast to my Google home has recently stopped playing any of the episodes. I used to have no problem but now when I click the play icon it will randomly jump to different episodes but never actually play anything, just jump three episodes then stay silent even though the track time is still counting. I don't have any other issues with other music or podcasts and I've tried uninstalling, doing a "clean" re-install, resetting my Google home and still no luck.

Hey @Ginjaninja6159,

Thanks for reaching out to us and welcome to the Community!

Can you let us know if you've tried recreating this issue on a different network? In case you don't have another network available, you can ask a friend or a family member to start a hotspots for you use a that network to try it.

In case the issue persists, please share the URI of that specific podcast that you're not able to play. Also, include in your next response the make, model and OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G, the model is SM-G781V, and it's an Android. The spotify version is 8.7.82.94 and I was unable to find the URI, but the podcast is 8-Bit Book Club

Hi there @Ginjaninja6159,

Thanks for the info. To get the URI, you can go to Spotify on Desktop -> Share -> Where you see Copy Link, hold ALT or CTRL and it will change to Copy URI. Then you can send it to us. Alternatively, you can just send us the link instead, that could work also. Please send us the exact Android Version too.

Do you experience any issues on other devices? What about this phone when it's playing without the Google Home? Also did you try reproducing the issue in another network or with another account as suggested above?

Let us know, we'll be keeping an eye out for your response.

The phone is on Android version 12. I have tried the other network with the same results. The podcast plays fine on any other device, and I can cast other podcasts and songs to the Google Home. It's only when I select any episodes for this podcast that it starts skipping quickly through a few of the episodes then stopping and not playing anything. I also don't have access to another account.

Hey @Ginjaninja6159,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you create a new account for testing purposes and give the podcast a go? We'll be then able to further isolate the issue and find out if it is related to your current account.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!
