My Question or Issue

Whenever I click the + button to add a song to my playlist instead of asking me which playlist should the song be added to, Spotify automatically adds the song to my liked song playlist every single time is it just me or is anyone facing the same problem? Is there any way to fix this issue?

Hey @Zooyaaa__,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to add some insights. It's expected that when you tap the (+) Plus button from the Now Playing View, songs will be saved to your Liked Songs (if they weren't added to the Liked Songs playlist previously). After that, you can quickly tap the (+) Plus button again to add the song to your other playlists too. When you tap the button again, you'll also see the other playlists that the song has already been added to with a green ✔ Check icon.

Now, it's important to keep in mind:

  • If you're listening to one of the playlists you've created, then when tapping the (+) button will open the aforementioned menu, since those songs are already part of one of your playlists and of your library.
  • If you're listening to a playlist that was not created by you, then the menu will appear or not, depending on if the song was already part of your liked songs playlist/library or not.

You can read more about the (+) button experience in this article. If you're having issues adding songs to your other playlists even if the song is part of your Liked Songs playlist/library, please let us know. It'd be awesome if you could send us the exact Spotify version you're running on your device.
