Ads keep crashing Spotify [Android]

Ads keep crashing Spotify [Android]

It's happened 47 times over 5 days. I've tried rebooting my phone, closing out of Spotify & leaving it play (silence).
They can't be skipped (Smart Shuffle & 1 in 10 songs are forced upon me. Get rid if it & I will think about subscribing. I've got 5000+ songs in my list - Recomended Tracks are too much).
Only ads seem to do it.

Hey @strerd

Seems like you're having an issue worth investigating.

You should try deleting and reinstalling the app. Hopefully that'll fix the issue. 🙂

Note: I'm not a Spotify employee.

I'll try that.

I uninstalled, then reinstalled.

It goes to ad & then stops playing anything. I have last years Galaxy S22. Everything else works except Spotify.

Hi there @strerd,

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you have the behaviour listed in this Ongoing Issue thread. If it is, then follow the thread for updates on the matter as we continue to investigate this and look for a solution.

Hope this helps.

After updating twice, it crashed 11 more times. This problem persists.

It stopped working again. 3 times & counting.

4 more time it crashed when ads popped up. Reset it back to Jan 15. I had no problems with Spotify. No Smart Shuffle. No You Might Like & it plays over & over. No ads disabling the player.

Hi @strerd,

The thread I mentioned in my previous reply is still active and the issue there is still being actively investigated. Please post any useful info you have there and provide any further info that we have requested there.

Hope this helps.
