Albums just spin

Albums just spin

Tapping on any of my albums just results in an infinite spinner. Same online or offline, downloaded or undownloaded. I've tried the troubleshooting Android steps including remove data, uninstall, format SD card, reinstall and redownload all my music. Yet the problem persists. This makes my app and subscription almost useless. The only way I can play music is by adding the album to "play next" which is an unmanageable queue (removing something once it's there is a hassle where I have to go song by song).

I'm frustrated and don't know what to do. This is my last ditch effort before canceling my subscription and looking at other competitors. Please help!

I'm on Android version 6.2.0.1028 running marshmallow on a Samsung Galaxy Edge S7.

Update: Seems to affect undownloaded albums also.

You've set the SD card as spotify's storage location? If so, could you try using internal storage instead (you might need to clear the cache first if space is going to be an issue) then make an album available offline and see if it will play.

If it plays, it could be worth trying a new SD card.

Just saw your edit. So you're saying that you can't play albums at all but playlists, individual tracks. artists etc all work? If so, try a clean reinstall following the steps in the first part of this post.

So the songs play fine if I add them to a Playlist or play next. So they're
on the SD card but fine. Albums just can't be accessed directly which I
find frustrating since this is the main way I access spotify. I guess I
just need to create Playlists for all my albums?

I'll try using the internal storage to experiment and report back.
