Hi @WhyGod,

Thank you for reaching out here in the Community!

Regarding your question, on-demand mobile access is available only for Premium users. However, it's available on selected playlists for Free users as well, there will be no shuffle symbol next to the title of the playlist. That means, you can choose a song you want to play and you have unlimited skips.

To start a playlist, tap the green SHUFFLE PLAY button.

You can still play on-demand using a desktop, even without Premium Subscription.

Here's an article comparing different Subscriptions offered by Spotify. Take a look if you're interested.

I hope it helps!

I've got the same problem om my Samsung S7. I don't have premium and on my Lenovo tablet there is no problem

Hello @AnnH1

You won't be able to choose a song to play on your mobile while using Spotify Free, unless there is no shuffle symbol next to the title of the playlist.

You can listen to a regular playlist by taping the green SHUFFLE PLAY button.

On desktops and tablets it's possible to play on demand even without Premium.

For more detail on how Spotify Free works on mobile, check this article.

If you want to check different subscriptions offered by Spotify, here's a support article for you.

I hope you'll find this helpful!

But I can't play Amy playlist! What I can see i n the article you linked to
I should be able to do that.

Hi @AnnH1

Could you send a screenshot of the playlist you're not able to play?

Thanks 🙂

This has been happening to me and I have Spotify Premium Family.  I expect to be able to play my playlists.  It’s not a connection issue and I reinstalled the app and it worked until I returned to my car later.  The same problem happened again.  I never had this problem until about 2 weeks ago.

Hey @Breitsd,

Thanks for joining!
So - when you're just on your phone - all songs play correctly.
When you enter your vehicle they only play previews?

In case this is so, let us know how you connect to your car. Is it a Bluetooth connection or Android Auto?
I'd also check if this happens with other external devices as well.

Let's narrow down what the exact issue is and we'll figure out how to proceed from there 🙂
