My Question or Issue

If I use my computer to listen to Spotify, I can continue whatever song/playlist/queue I was listening to on my phone. However, It doesn't seem to go the other way. I think this is only after I close my android app because I have compatibility options (Select a device, skipping a song using my phone even though the im listening to Spotify on my laptop etc. )when my app is open.

To give an example in hopes of making my situation more clear: If I am on my way driving home and use an audio jack to play Spotify from my phone and exit and close the app without pausing the song when I turn the car off and I go inside and open my laptop and start the Spotify app, there is no song listed to press play on. I have to choose what to listen to again.

I don't think it'll keep the song you listen to because the app on your computer is not open.

Okay. That makes sense. Kinda sucks that the phone can pick up where the laptop left off even if Spotify is closed on both devices and not the other way around. I'm not gonna complain too much, though, because at least it works in one direction (rather that none).

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Keep in mind that the app only syncs your music to other devices if you open it simultaneously on the devices you use while you're listening.

In this case, if you want to have the desktop app updated with the new recently played music, you can either listen to music on it directly or open it while you're listening to music on your phone.
