Android 8.0 breaks song info displayed in car

Hello,

There's a previous post on this subject that's been closed, but I don't see any solution presented, so I'm re-posting (sorry if I'm looking in the wrong place!). 

I just upgraded to Android 8.0. Now when playing songs in the car, the dashboard information that is displayed (Song title, artist, album and album artwork) shows just the first song that's played upon startup. Subsequent song audio is fine, but the dashboard info display remains stuck at that first song.

Technical details:

Spotify version 8.4.25.771 armV7, Android 8.0.0 on Nexus 6P, playing on Audi MMI

BTW, I just tried the same functionality using Google Play Music app, and that works fine.

I have the exact same issue with a Pixel 2 XL (on 8.1) and previously had it with a Pixel 2 on 8.0. I'm connecting to a Hyundai Tucson, for what its worth. The info always gets stuck on the first track thats played.

Apple Music correctly displays track information. This is driving me away from Spotify and back towards that.
