Android Auto: Annoying message during scrolling

Android Auto: Annoying message during scrolling

Hello Spotify,

I'm using Android Auto in my VW Golf 7. When I connect my Galaxy S8 to Anroid auto and start spotify I'm getting the following problem:

When I switch playlist or scroll within a playlist during drinving I get the following message (translated from german): "Browsing during drinving is nit allowed due to safty reasons" - **bleep** WHAT?

I bought VW app connect for over 200 Euros to avoid typing and scrolling on my phone during driving and to do this on my navi screen. This message obove doesn't lock the screen or something, it is just annoying and after 2 secounds I can continue. THIS IS DANGEROUS! REMOVE THIS!

Why dosn't spotify within apple car play have it?

Thanks,

Tobias

Hey Tob1234,

Do you happen to have screenshots you can share regarding your issue. Being an avid user of Android Auto myself, most of the issues usually stem from the Auto App itself. However, every situation is unique.

If I understanding the locking portion correctly, the Auto App itself should lock your screen. There are always ways ways around safety features. I only ask for pictures since I feel this may be more of an Auto issue vice Spotify. Which would still be fun to help troubleshoot.

Here is a picture of Spotify with Android Auto in a Opel Asta K. Same issue in a Golf 7.

Message translated to english is "Browsing is locked due to safety reasons".

Does this come from Spotify or from AA?

Yes indeed,

I have the same Problem with Audi Q2.

but not bein able to scol furthe after 2 seconds-

But Google is rigid, thinking to save the world.

Look:

We eat and drink while driving, we zap on the radio to the best station and zoom in the navigation system, look for the best alternative route at Maps, look for the best gas station. Everything "safe"
But to select a playlist, we have to unplug the smartphone or take a forced break.
With your scroll-block Google has made the world more insecure.

Google is mighty and ignores users arguments.

Please SPOTIFY you hav the power to argue and convince Google.

Do ist to keep your customers satisfied.

I have the same issue in Australia I can agree with it as a driver but my passenger was trying to use it not me as the driver
