My Question or Issue
When connecting to Android Auto and listening to a playlist, as soon as you stop and start the car again the last title/next title buttons are switched. Meaning if I press on skip title, it goes to the last one. If I press on back button it goes to the next title. Can be fixed by manually selecting a random title of the playlist.
Hey @Kobynathor,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
That's an odd behavior. To start investigating this, could you confirm if you've already performed a clean reinstall of the app on your phone? If not, give it a try to see if it makes any difference.
Also, if the issue persists, would you mind checking if this happens with music and podcasts as well?
Lastly, include in your next response the Spotify version you're currently running.
We'll be on the lookout.
8.9.70.556 is the version I am on.
As you suggested I tried a clean install of Spotify and it does exactly the same and it also does it with Podcasts
Hey @Kobynathor,
Thanks for reply!
You're actually not running the latest version, so can you check for any pending Spotify updates and install them?
Let us know how it goes.
I checked in Google Playstore but there is no update available for Spotify
Hi there @Kobynathor,
Thanks for the reply!
If possible, can you try a different mobile device to see if the same happens? You can also check if there are any pending Android Auto updates.
It'd be great if you can also make a screen recording and attach it to your next response, so that we can have a closer look. If the file is too large to attach, you can upload it to Google Drive (make sure to allow general access to the file) or as an unlisted YouTube video.
Keep us posted.
This issue was already on my old S22+, I recently upgraded to S24 Ultra and the issue is still the same.

Hey @Kobynathor,
Thanks you for the videos!
Just so that we can gather more details, we wanted to check if changing the order of the playlist to custom (and reversing the order) would make a difference.
Seems like the play order defaults to a different playlist order when things go south, we just need to know if the same button behaviour will be observed when different playlist orders are selected.
Many thanks in advance!
I checked with all available sorting options and it is the same for all
Hey @Kobynathor,
Thanks for giving it a shot & for all details provided!
We've forwarded this our teams so that they can have a closer look as well. While we can't give you a specific timeframe in this case, we recommend keeping the app up-to-date to get any newly released fixes as soon as they're launched.
Cheers!
I have something to add: It seems not to be limited to Android Auto, just found out that if I start a playlist on my phone, stop the music and the continue the playlist on my PC at home it is the same phenomenom, the buttons are inverse.
