Android Auto doesn't load Spotify library

Android Auto doesn't load Spotify library

Hello. I have an Opel Karl MY 2019 and a smartphone Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite, with MIUI 12.0.5 and Android 10

I connected my phone to car with USB type-C cable and all apps works correctly, but I have some problems with Spotify (currently, I have a 3-months trial Premium).

When I touch the Spotify app in my Android Auto menu on my car, the screen gives an error or it loads in loop, so it doesn't load my library or playlists.

So, I need to open Spotify app on my phone, go to Menu -> Settings -> "Switch to Car mode" and setting on "Always" (with "only in car" set it doesn't work)!

Just check the screenshot (sorry, it's in Italian language).

How can I fix this problem without changing the app view?

Is it a power saving problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hey there @alessandrus96,

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community!

As a first step, we recommend running a clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. This can be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If that doesn't do the trick, could you try connecting your phone to your car's stereo via Bluetooth instead of cable and let us know if that makes any difference?

Keep us posted. We'll be on the lookout.

Hello @CarlosE !

So, I did a few tries.. with Bluetooth connection I don't have problems. I mean, I need to open Spotify app on my phone and send music to my car through BT menu.

But, the problem persists with Android Auto.

I wanna specify that, when I try to open Spotify on Android Auto menu in my car and the library doesn't load, I have the error "Spotify doesn't seem to work at the moment" (see attached image in Italian...).

Today, I solved the issue (hoping definitely..) cleaning data and cache of Spotify, installing the last update and enabling the "Autostart" of Spotify app. I left "Car view" setting on "only in auto" in Spotify settings and I linked the USB cable.

Finally, I can view my library on my Android Auto interface, without opening Spotify on my phone manually! And Google voice commands work too!

The only little "problem" is the autostart of Spotify app even if I don't use it, with a little more consumption of battery.
