It has been YEARS and I STILL can't make spotify stop showing up on my phone when playing on PC

It has been YEARS and I STILL can't make spotify stop showing up on my phone when playing on PC

I have never once, not ever once, wanted spotify to popup on my phone when I'm playing music on my desktop. I have never once clicked play on spotify on my desktop and wanted it to make music play from my phone or clicked play on my phone and wanted it to play music from my computer on the other side of the house.

HOW IS THIS NOT SOMETHING WE CAN DISABLE AFTER YEARS OF PEOPLE COMPLAINING?

I'm sure that some people love this functionality and just deal with spotify playing on the wrong device from time to time. Good for them. Many of us have no use for it though, it just wastes battery on our phone and is another app running in the background constantly. Why, for the love of all that is good in this world, can we not just have a simple options in the settings to turn this off?

Please?

Hi there @rmmoul,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

Currently there is no way to disable the Connect function, so If you have both apps open on your devices playback will start automatically on the last device that you've recently used.

If you think other users might also like it, go ahead and create an idea on the relevant idea board. We always take new ideas and feedback into consideration to improve the app. Here you can read more on how ideas work.

We also suggest checking this help article for useful tips on how to submit an idea. As a heads-up, it's good to know that the higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for the idea to be implemented.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any more questions.
