[Android Wear] Questionable functionality?

Hi 
I'm driving my car and want to turn on music. So I go click on my android wear watch on one of the shortcut buttons on it, it opens Spotify and BOOM, shows me my recent playlists. That's nice. So I tab on one of them. 

But instead of starting the playlist from my phone, it is obviously connected to, it just displays  

So I have to open my phone, open Spotify, and then I can use my watch. Then I could as well just have used the phone app in first place. 

That doesn't make sense to me =/ 
Just as I don't understand why I still can't download offline songs to it, when I have a premium account.
