My Question or Issue

As of today, i cant open Spotify app. Tried clearing cache/data, reinstalling (ffs, ive had 1000+ songs downloaded for offline and 20+ mp3 playlists synced..) and notinhg helps. App starts, i get gray screen for like 20-30seconds then it crashes. Was working fine yesterday. Any idea whats the reason for this clownfiesta? Spotify app is getting worse and worse every update, but this is beyond ridiculous for a premium service.

One plus 6 user with android 8.1.0 over here.
Same problem.

I have this as well on a Galaxy S8 running Android 8.0.0 in Canada.

I cleared cache, cleared data, reinstalled (did this all twice including redownloading 1000s of songs). As of right now I am paying for an unusable app. This is ridiculous.

I've got exactly the same issue

I'm on a Huawei Mate S on Android 6

Same issue here. Started yesterday afternoon. (Worked great in the morning.) Tried everything I could find in the help community. (Reboot, clean reinstall, etc.) Now paying a montly fee for an app that doesn't work. Galaxy Pixel

Anyone have any other suggested apps they use for music?

Google Pixel, UK, premium member.

I have this exact same issue. Considering how much we pay to use this app, I'm really upset.

Samsung note 8, same problem

the app works fine if i didn't download my main playlist (i have my own music from local storage), after i download it, it will crash after i start the app

after i clear data, the app is working again, but need to re-login

this issue happended since 8 june 2018, i noticed there's an update to the spotify app a day before

this is the only playlist that i downloaded, there around 750 songs in it

i've tried to downloda the playliust again, same thing happened, i'm guessing it's related to downloading songs that's causing the issue

I have the exact same issue on my Google Pixel XL, doesn't open and crashes 20-30s later. I'm guessing it's due to the local files that I've synced, because without them synced the app seems to work just fine.

Same problem, LG Q6 premium account from Australia running Android 7.1.1, started this morning, worked fine last night.

Same here!! Huawei P10 lite. Opens to a black screen for 5 seconds then crashes. Every time.

Also having this problem on Pixel 2, premium subscription. Annoying.

Same problem here. OnePlus 5T, Oreo 8.1

Having the same problem. 😕

Premium member, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Android 8.0, Verizon. I'm not really much of a complainer and I get that you'll get some bugs here and there, but this has been going on since the latest update. It's been unusable for about a week. So it's kind of disappointing when we're paying for it.

I have the same phone and the same problem here... I suspect the last update...

I have the same problem, since 8 june. I have a Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro. Mexico user

SAME!
Pixel XL, latest everything...

Have had no problems at all until now but when it crashes once it's dead and I have to clean re-install and download all the tracks again.  It will work for a while then when the opening screen is loading for a little TOO long I can feel the crash coming.

I would LOVE a fix for this as normally stock android runs like a dream with everything.  I'm about to go overseas for a month and this will make Spotify pretty much useless if I lose all my synced MP3's

This is also happining on my s8 after the update. I even deleted the app just to download all my songs again but it just happened 2 days later. If this doesn't fix soon I'm cancelling my subscription

Same here with a pixel2xl

Same on Google Pixel 2XL and Android P beta2. Seems to occur due to local files. I have 4 offline Playlists with approximately 200 songs each. Without downloading them it works.
