Android app won't play imported Apple-Lossless files which Desktop version played fine

Android app won't play imported Apple-Lossless files which Desktop version played fine

I was truly excited how easy it is import local music files to my Android phone using the Desktop app.

However, the Android app does not play lossless Apple m4a.  I have to manually re-encode them to 320 bit rate just so I can play those songs in my car.

Any reason why the PC desktop version can play them but Android version?

Spotify can play m4a files on a PC as long as quicktime is installed but does not support m4a natively, The help page states "It doesn’t support .mp4 files that contain video, or the iTunes lossless format (M4A), but we’ll do our best to match any unsupported local files with songs from the Spotify catalog."

Actually the Desktop app DOES play Apple-Lossless files but not the Android app.  What's up with that?

Try reading what I said again, carefully.
