Android version excessive battery drain

I'm on a Nexus 5, fully stock, latest updates. For some reason, Spotify is using way too much battery. On the battery monitor, it's using more power than the screen. What's up with that?

I also have this problem on my Samsung s6 edge plus with Android 6.0.1 

Sporify is version 7.0.0.1371 armV7.

Same problem here. Drains battery even if spotify is idle.

I'm bumping this, as i now can't even use the app for any lenght of time. New screenshots added.

I've got the same issue on Oneplus 3, with all updates and official versions of OS.

Battery quick drain... seems like unable to quit the App, as the notification stays on top eventhough music is on pause.

Any help ?
