My Question or Issue

So I've had this problem quite recently...the Android app crashes every time I try to search among my liked songs. I've tried clean reinstall and made sure that it's the latest version. But the problem persists. It's fine for other playlists but only happens with my liked songs.

Hey there @moonfaery

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

First up, we suggest that you try logging out and then logging back in twice in a row. This will trigger a sync between your account and phone.

If this doesn't do the trick, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey Eni,

Thanks for the reply. I tried logging in twice in a row but I ended up with the same problem. Also, the app works on its own whims, it works when it wants to.

I've already tried a clean reinstall but to no avail.

Hey @moonfaery,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you try replicating the issue with a different account on your device? Also try a different network connection while at it.

It's important to also make sure that Spotify has been set as an exception in the battery/memory optimization settings of your device. Those settings vary between device manufacturers, but here is a nice overview of the most common ones.

Let us know how that went,

Cheers!

I found a fix but it is dumb. Go to you're liked songs playlist and switch it to smart shuffle before playing a song. This is the only way I could get it to not crash on me. After you are playing the playlist you can switch it back to regular shuffle or no shuffle as desired. Spotify you need to rectify this problem.

This issue just started for me too, this solves it but I HATE smart shuffle. Crashes every time I try to play a library song without it 😠. Anyway, thanks for a temp fix until they get it patched
