App freezing between songs or switching playlist/podcast

My Question or Issue

My Spotify app has been so frustrating lately that I consider canceling my subscription.

While normally listening to a playlist, app would freeze, either in the middle of a song or at the end of the song (not switching to another one, about 50% of the time).

Even more frustrating is if I want to switch from a playlist to a podcast (saved and downloaded). The waiting/loading screen is what I see the most while "using" the app. Even after clearing the cache, even after stopping the app, even after restarting the phone, even after reinstalling the app. 

I had a subscription for close to 8 years. It's never been this bad.

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about your recent experience with the app, I'll do my best to help! 

I'm using the same app version on the same device model, but I couldn't reproduce the issues you've described, so it could be something with the way your phone was set up. Can you go to Settings - Apps - Spotify - Battery and change the setting to either Unrestricted or Optimized?

If that doesn't help, it's a good idea to test if the same happens: 

• In the web player.
• With a different internet connection.
• When logged in a different account.
• When playing through the phone's speaker.
