App incessantly pausing/skipping songs.

This happens the second i plug my car audio cable in. It's an FM transmitter. Randomly, my volume slider will pop into view during the app's seizure.

Phone is the OnePlus 3T.
Android version 6.0.1
Spotify version 6.9.0.1212 armv7

It could be a problem with the jack plug on the transmitter or (hopefully not) a defective socket on the phone if this only happens when you have something plugged into the phone socket. You can eliminate the socket by plugging in aerphones.

Hey, sorry to just now get back. I've been listening with headphones with no issue. Using Audio Technica m50x. I would have been pretty upset if the brand new phone has a jacked up headphone jack, haha.

Seems to only be an issue in the car, possibly because the phone is trying to see the fm transmitter as a mic attachment, but that's just speculation.
