Audio Quality Decreases After a Phone Call

Anytime I'm listening to Spotify and I answer a phone call, I've noticed that when the music resumes after the call has ended it plays in a very poor and grainy quality, similar to a phone call on speakerphone. This problem then continues throughout playback of any song. Sometimes it goes away on its own after time, or when I Force Stop the app, but the only definite solution I've found is to restart the device. Can anyone help?

I'm on the latest version of the app on a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 4.4.2

I recently did a clean install to resolve another issue, but this specific problem was happening before the install and is still happening now.

Do you have an equaliser app installed at all? Can you try disabling it.

The only equalizer I have is the one built into my phone, which I cannot disable. I tried resetting it but that didn't fix the problem.

Have you tried other media apps to see if it's not just Spotify affected? Personally I suspect the issue is with your device, it may require a factory reset.

Can you try playing something on youtube or other music app first though.
