My Question or Issue

App version 8.7.70.553

 

When audio is paused and sent to background, after about an hour/hour and a half the audio doesnt play when returning to app.

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Play audio in app

2. Pause audio in app

3. Go to background for over an hour (I was also using apps with other audio, but not sure it's related)

4. Return to app

5. Press play

 

The bug occurs when the play button is pressed. The play turns to paused but no audio is heard and the audio time does not change.

 

I tried to reproduce using Do Not Keep Activities flag in Android dev settings, but it seems that the app must be in background for the extended period of time.

Can you let us know if you've already tried to log out > restart your device > log back in? 

 

We'd recommend taking a look a this page to see how to clear your device's cache, because sometimes old cached files might be interfering with app's performance.

 
You can also check your phone's battery settings and make sure that Spotify is set as an exception if you're using the battery optimization option.
 

In case the issue persists, it could be a good idea to ask a friend or a family member to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.
