My Question or Issue

My spotify had been slowed down significantly these past few weeks. Clicking songs to play, I would have to wait 5 or 6 seconds until the song actually plays despite having strong WiFi/Data. When skipping songs, the delay would also be significant. I would skip through a song and it wouldn't change until another 5 seconds. When using bluetooth devices with spotify the delay would essentially double. I have no idea whether this started from a spotify update or android update. It worked great about a month ago.

So after browsing these forums, I saw that the clean reinstall is an option. I followed those instructions. Now, not only do I still have an extremely slow spotify, I also cannot load the spotify homescreen! The other menus work fine, just slow.

Same issue here, also on Samsung S9. No Homescreen, individual songs not showing. When I click "show discography" all I get is a blank screen. Bummer, I pay $10 for this app lol.

Hey @danod1,

Thanks for sharing this with us and for trying out a clean reinstall.

Please make sure you do this:

  1. Go to your device's Settings and clear the data there: Settings>Apps>Spotify>Storage>Clear data.
  2. Enable Permissions for Spotify: Mobile Settings> Apps> Spotify> Permissions. Allow everything you see there.
  3. Open the phone's Settings > search for "Optimise battery usage" > click on "Apps not optimised" and select "All" > search for Spotify and disable battery optimization.

Let us know if it helps. Thanks in advance 🙂
