Bug: podcast filter resets when leaving app, but selection remains the same

Plan: Premium

Country: USA

Device: OnePlus5

Operating System: Android 10

Spotify Version: 8.6.66.22 (but problem has existed for a long time)

 

My Question or Issue

On a podcast page, I can filter displayed episodes by "Downloads". I leave the app by clicking the home button, then come back into spotify. The podcast is still filtered by "Downloads", as expected. But after about 1 second, the list of episodes shown changes as if I had changed the filter to "All Episodes", while not having touched anything. The filter still shows "Downloads" as selected.

Re-selecting "Downloads" resets the selection to "All Episodes", and then I can change the selection again to "Downloads" and it filters properly again.

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community. 

 

First up, it's well worth running a clean reinstall to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble. This one is more thorough than the usual one. 

 

If this doesn't do the trick, would you mind trying on a different phone to check if the issue persists there?

Hello, @Eni-
I followed the instructions for the clean reinstall, and can confirm the problem persists on my phone.

I also was able to reproduce the problem on a friend's phone under their spotify premium account:
Samsung Galaxy S20 5G
Android 11
Spotify version 8.6.62.1029

We tested this from our side and were able to replicate the issue the same way shown on the video. We passed this on to the right folks who will investigate it backstage.

Doing a check just now, the issue persists on both versions 8.6.72.152 and is still there after updating to 8.6.72.426

Could you double check your mobile app version? If possible, please send us a screenshot of it. We ask this because the current version is the 8.6.68

Just updated to version 8.6.72.747, problem is still there.

We've now forwarded your new report to the right folks, that the issue is still apparent for you after the latest update has been applied. I do not know exactly which update fixed it, but as recent as late last week it seems to work now! Thank you.
