My Question or Issue

Ever since the Spotify update on 6/28/22 I am unable to search for songs in my library/liked Songs/playlist. If I type the name of a song is shows up as "no results found" despite having multiple songs with the same name or same words. If I type anything more than a single letter I get no results. And even when I type a single letter I get maybe 5 results, which with over 1000 songs there should be way more than that.

Is there any work around to this or is this a big with the new update?

Hey @TW74,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

This is indeed an odd behavior. Could you prepare a short screen recording of it?

As for troubleshooting you can start with a clean reinstall of the app as described here.

Also make sure, that Spotify is set as an exception in the battery/memory optimization settings. On this site there are steps on how to do this.

Does a different account behave the same on your device?

Keep us posted,

Cheers!

The above suggested solution did not work. I checked my husband's Spotify on his Android device, and he also has the same problem. Please see recording attached. As you can see the song which is actively playing at the bottom doesn't show up when searched. Considering it's not just my account, I am assuming that at this point it is some bug in the most recent update. However it is definitely an extremely inconvenient one.

Hey there @TW74,

Thanks for your video and the reply here.

Could you confirm if this is still occurring for you and your husband? If yes, then  I can suggest to log out and then to log back in, and even to do that twice in a row, as this triggers a refresh between the servers and your accounts and may help to resolve any possible issues with the cached memory of your devices. See if this will make the search work as expected.

If the above doesn't help then please let us know what are the exact Spotify versions on your mobile devices, as well as what are your devices' makes, models and their OS versions - this info is needed for us to further report and investigate the situation.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get on.
