My Question or Issue
Lately when I'm invited to a jam, I can't search for songs and add them to the jam from the search page. I can add them from the "Group Recommendations" page or the "Songs you liked" page if I swipe right. However, if I search for a song and click the plus, it just takes me back to "Group Recommendations" and doesn't actually add the song.
This has previously worked. It only started having issues in the past couple days. I haven't updated anything about the phone software, although it is possible Spotify auto-updated.
I'm also having this issue on a Google Pixel 6 Pro. No Spotify update is pending, but I did exit/rejoin the Jam, restarted the Spotify app, and restarted my device to no effect. Currently installing an Android update, we'll see if that does anything.
EDIT: It was a pretty major Android content update, but no dice. Still having this issue.
I reached out to Customer Service and they suggested logging out and back into the app twice in a row, and that fixed it for me. Hope this solution works for you too!
UPDATE: it didn't stick. As soon as I left and joined a new Jam, ran into the same thing. It also seemed to be having issues with Bluetooth, infinitely spinning trying to find nearby devices. The relogging x2 trick only seems to work some of the time. I'm giving up on this for now. So frustrating.
I have the same issue also on a Google pixel 7 pro
One last thing and then I'm letting it go. The search bar in the Jam UI may not work, but it's possible to add songs from the main search feature by using "Add to Queue".
This feature is unintuitive, buggy as heck, and poorly designed. So frustrating.
Same problem here, on android. Also: in the search results it shows a plus sign on the right, and not the "add to list" icon.
This actually works for me as well, so I guess this is the way I'm going to do it from now on. It wasn't particularly intuitive, although in retrospect it makes sense. Thanks for that
Still gonna leave this thread up just so they know the Jam search feature doesn't work
Having the same issue on my Google 6 pro. One of the reasons I'm not renewing my account. Kind of the last straw. Was hoping to use this feature with the family and friends for hosting Christmas but looks like no dice. Just frustration all around as people start playing songs instead of adding them to the queue
I have the same issue. Very frustrating. Spotify's Jam functionality is a unique feature thst sets it apart from competitors. It is a pity they do not bother to keep it functional.
Has anyone in this thread opened an official support ticket? And if you did are you making sure the ticket remains open? I'd be happy to open one if no one else did. And don't allow them to close it until the update comes...
