Can't play selected album

Hi

When I select an album to play via the Spotify app it plays a random song by the artist from a random album. The next song is then by the same artist but another random album.

I've tried reinstalling the app but the issue remains.

I don't have this issue when playing albums from my PC via the website.

Any ideas?

I believe you're using the Spotify Free plan which won't let you pick music of your choice rather shuffle play all the time.

It's my understanding it shuffles tracks on the selected album when using free and this is the behaviour when playing an album via the website.

The app plays tracks from random albums by the artist.

This is expected behavior for Spotify free on mobile. It's not possible to listen to the album, but you can listen to a playlist based on the album, or add individual tracks from an album to a playlist. You can listen to an album in full with Spotify Premium.

I was trying to listen to an album, but when I pressed play on the album, it played a completely different song from a completely different album.  I listened to that song because I figured the next song would actually be from the album I wanted.  It was not.  I listend to 3 different songs, and not a single one was from the album i was trying to listen to. 
After that, I tried to find the song manually, but when i pressed play on it, the song was, once again, completely different and unrelated (I pressed play on an undertale song and it played a sonic song). 
Been trying to listen for an hour or so, and I haven't been able to listen to a single song I want to listen to.  I've tried to fix it, but I can't find a setting for that, and research doesn't help, because all I've found has been things saying I need to disable shuffle, but why would it shuffle the song before the song even starts.
I also use the free plan, so I wouldn't br surprised if this was just spotify making it as difficult as possible to not pay.

When I choose a song by SA55 spotify plays something else.
