Can't see or control what I am listening to.

Starting in the last week, Spotify often doesn't show me what I am listening to - in the app or in notification drop down. I not only don't see what I'm playing, I cannot interact with it at all. The only way I can stop playback is to reboot my phone. This is a big problem!

I can get music to stop if I force close the app. Otherwise, same problem. It appears to have started with the rollout of the play controls not being persistent, but only popping up when music is playing. I often like to connect to a speaker in my home before starting music, which was handled in the play controls. Now I have to start the music on my phone first, then transfer the music. This start/stop/start is 1) frustrating but also 2) can wake a sleeping baby which amplifies #1. Please undo this design/UX change.

Leave it to Spotify to mess up what was working just fine before. Between this and the money they pay to political hacks, I may have to go to YouTube Music. Really annoying how Spotify is flailing.
