Can't switch to SD card

Recently just delete over 1000 songs off my phone and now I can't download them back onto my SD card only internal storage already followed steps for a clean reinstall and I'm on the lastest version of Spotify and Android 6.0.1

That's not cool. Please go to Settings > Apps > Spotify > Permissions > and give Spotify "Storage" permission.

Also, does the SD card have at least 1GB of free space?

It does have storage permission and I have 58gb free

Did this issue start happening after a specific update or event? Does removing the SD card, reinstalling the app, then reinserting the SD card help?
