Can't synch - android doesn't show under devices

Can't synch - android doesn't show under devices

Sounds like I'm having the same problem. Since the last update I cant download my local files (mp3s on my laptop, which I imported in spotify) to my spotify app. It used to work, but it can't connect anymore

  • Does your mobile still show under "devices" in the client?
  • Do you get any error messages - what happens when you try to synch?
  • How much free space do you have on whichever storage you are using?

Message says "Waiting to download", but nothing happens. It doesn't show under devices. It used to work, but it doesn't anymore, how do I reconnect the app with the laptop?

@Keksmajor I've moved this into a seperate topic and changed the subject as it doesn't relate to Spotify Connect and it will be easier to follow.

The fact that your mobile doesn't show under devices prevents any files synching so we need to fix that. Could you pllease try the following:

  • Check that your username shown in the top right of your desktop client is the same as appears in the mobile spotify settings screen (at the bottom)
  • Make sure that your PC is connected to your wireless router and not the modem, if they are separate
  • Check that UPnP is enabled in the router settings
  • Temporarily disable all firewalls, antivirus and other security software
  • Reboot your router then your PC and finally your mobile
  • Start spotify on your PC and wait until it finishes loading
  • Make sure your mobile is connected to your router
  • Start spotify on your mobile - check that it is not in offline mode
  • It should now appear under "devices" in the desktop client and you should be good to go
