Cannot get HOME SCREEN to come up

Cannot get HOME SCREEN to come up

When I attempt to go to HOME SCREEN I get an error message saying SOMETHING WENT WRONG. PLEASE RETRY but that doesn't help. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no luck. Help? Thanks!

Hey @terryd23,

 

Looks like you may need a clean install, which means deleting everything Spotify has created in your phone:

 

1. Uninstall the app from phone by going to 'Settings' -> 'Apps' then scroll to the Spotify app and tap on it. Once loaded press 'Uninstall'.
2. Using a file manager make sure that the below folders are deleted if they still exist:

 

  • /emulated/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /ext_sd/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /sdcard1/Android/data/com.spotify.music
  • /data/media/0/Android/data/com.spotify.music

You will lose all preferences & offline playlists in doing this.

I am having this same issue with my spotify app on my samsung galaxy s6. I have tried removing the files from my phone and reinstalling, but the home page still isn't loading. Is there anything else I can try to fix this?

If that's the case, you should fill out the contact form, and someone from Spotify will be happy to help you within 24 hrs. Don't forget to check your spam folder for responses as they may end up there.

 

If you get an automated email directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to support@spotify.com and one of the customer services agents will get back to you.

I saw your response a couple days after you had posted it. Thank you. At that point for some reason, the HOME SCREEN just started woking again on its' own. Odd thing is, I had this issue not just on my phone (Moto X) but also at the same time on my tablet (ASUS Zenpad 8). They both began having issues at the same time and they both started working again at the same time. Odd, but everything works fine now. Thanks again.
