Cannot play some songs on mobile

So I have synced many of my local files onto my mobile device.  However, it seems that certain songs that are not in Spotify's catalog cannot be played on my mobile device.

For example, there is only one Aaliyah album on Spotify which is Age Ain't Nothing But a Number.  Anything on her other albums cannot be played on my mobile device.  Is there any way to work around this issue?  I'm very disappointed considering I just signed up for Spotify Premium from Google Music.  If I cannot fix this, i'm just going to look into getting refunded if possible or cancel.
