Certain artists don't play on mobile

Certain artists don't play on mobile

There are certain artists that I cannot play on the mobile version of spotify. They will play fine on my computer, but not on mobile. I press a song by them, and then it stops the song I'm listening to and gets rid of the song I'm listening to but also removes the playback bar on the bottom and nothing plays. This happens with Kendrick Lamar and Beck, none of their songs work on my phone. Other songs play just fine, it's not a connection issue.

I am having this same issue, on both my phone and the online version of Spotify.

No songs by Bruno Mars will play, nor will any songs by rapper The Game. These are just the two artists I've randomly discovered, but I'd imagine there's others.

Can anyone chime in here as to why this might be. It seems VERY odd and probably needs some actual attention Spotify employees.

Thanks.

Edit: I also cannot play any Kendrick songs except for the Skrillex Remix of Humble. That is literally the ONLY Kendrick song that plays. What the **bleep**?

Yep, same thing here. Neither of those artists will play for me either when I'm on mobile, yet they work fine on my PC.

I've tried removing all my downloaded music, uninstalling the app, restarting my phone, and then reinstalling, but the problem persists.

Add on to Kendrick Lamar: Big Sean, Justin Timberlake, Blake Shelton, Toby Kieth, Ed Sheeran, and Frank Ocean. There are definitely more.

I thought it was just a computer problem but it seems like others have it as well.

Any insight on the issue?

Has Spotify addressed the problem

Same problem.  Add Beck, David Bowie and ProbCause to the list...  It does work if I use spotify connect on a device, but not on PC or mobile.  though Frank Ocean works  for me.

This is a really annoying bug.

Why people feel the need to start a new thread when there are existing ones escapes me. You'll find solutions in one or two of the other threads.

This is the most useless comment. I searched and didn't find a solution. If
it's so easy why not link to one. The many I found did not work.

This has been ongoing for 3 weeks now. It started in Beta, in which I reported it. Someone from Spotify replied and said it must be  a network thing. So no help there. Then I decided to leave Beta it was fine until a few days later. I renrolled into beta thinking it was just the release I was on. Nope still an issue. Then last Friday it started happening on my PC. Yes there are many repeated threads on this but Spotify has yet to address this.

I'm sure it was useless for someone who is too lazy to look for themselves but starting multiple threads on the same issue is inefficient and clutters up the forum. Also, anyone who has an answer is unlikely to want to post the same thing multiple times in multiple threads. This is why the Community Guidelines say "Before posting or creating a new thread, make sure the issue you’re experiencing or the question you have is not already posted somewhere in the Community. Multiple threads on the same issue create clutter."

A fix which worked was posted here.

Using an older version of the app is not a fix it's a work around.
