So, I was helping a friend stain his patio the other day, and I was in a city that I don't have great reception in. No problem, I'll just listen to the music that's on my device, I thought...
Turns out I was very wrong. The entire day, songs native to the device would start, stop, skip, and sometimes even end prematurely. How is it that music that I have downloaded to the device, has trouble playing? This has been going on for a few weeks now, but it was most evident that day. Normally it's just once every few songs, but that day, out of six hours of playback, I think a total of three songs played in their entirety without skipping once.
This is unacceptable.
This, plus the 3,333, song per device (even though I only have one device!), plus the 10,000 saved song (library) limit, is making me seriously consider going to a competing app. I loved Spotify a year ago, but it seems like every few months there's a new feature that makes everything work worse.
I will try that this weekend and see what happens.
I'll keep you updated.
Still having problems. Now it's even happening when I'm on WiFi at home. It's weird though, because as soon as I switch to 4G it plays correctly, even though it should be playing from the device?
Does it happen if you put the Spotify app into Offline mode and play them?
Note - Make sure you put the app in Offline mode, and not the phone (Airplane Mode)
Don't know. Haven't tried that. Next time it does it, I'll give that a try.
I'll let you know.
Did you ever resolve this? I am having the same issue. Other media apps and websites play fine, but Spotify is really choppy, even for playlsits that are available offline.
Never got it fixed. I had to trade the phone in and I'm using a flip phone for now until those worthless b$*%&$s at Best Buy can get me a new one. I think it's because I had such a wealth of saved music and so many playlists that it just had trouble with it.
I'm having the same problem here 10 months later, and I do not have a lot of songs ore playlists saved, just one...
