Collection Replaced Starred?

Since Collection turned on in the phone app, I can no longer find a way to star tracks, aside from manually adding them to the starred playlist. Is the Collection eventually replacing the star function?

Long press on a track and select star, like it has always been done...

From the play queue, the track option gives star/unstar. No simple way from the now playing screen.

I believe there used to be an easy way on the Now Playing screen which is now gone. That's why I was confused. Thanks for the help.
