Crossfade is off... but really it is on. :,(

I have the note8 and just switched from groove.  I've only had this app for a very short time now and it is already having issues.  My settings with crossfade and gappless had not been changed.  Crossfade is set to off, and gappless is on.  But currently, the crossfade is working at 6 maybe 7 seconds.  I have tried turning the fade up to 12 and back to 0, no change.  Gappless on and off, no change.  Force stopped, no change.  Cleared the memory cache, no change.  It feels like the last option is to uninstall and start over, but 7gbs to redownload does not sound fun, so I was looking for suggestons?
