Daily mix stops after playing first batch of songs - No new songs added

First of all, big thanks for the Daily Mix. I think it can become an awesome feature of Spotify.

I'm playing the Daily Mix from my android phone to my PC but the playlist stops as soon as it has played the last song. On the bottom of the playlist it says something like 'We'll add more songs while you're listening' but that doesn't happen. Is it because I'm streaming to my PC, or is it a bug?

Hi there, glad you like the Daily mix - I've been loving my mixes... really awesome and very well matched!

Can you confirm how you are streaming to your PC? Also, how long have you been a Spotify user? It may be that you have not yet listened to enough music for the algorithm to be able to match songs

I've been a Spotify user for over a year, probably longer now. I'm streaming by opening Spotify on my PC and selecting Devices in my Android app and then select my PC (which btw works really great). I'm just wondering if this is only me or if there are any other Spotify users experiencing the same.

OK, so using Connect. Can you try just playing on your PC or phone directly and see if it scrolls through OK?

It may be that there is a bug using Daily Mix with Connect as they are running through different servers - it may be that the two are not properly linked which is why you're seeing the issue

Not sure what you mean with play on my pc directly since Daily Mix isn't available on the desktop yet. I can try tonight to play on my phone only and see if that adds new numbers to the mix.

Yes, please try on your mobile 🙂 I suspect it may be due to the fact you are using the Daily Mix mobile service - and the Connect server (as you rightly mention) is not linked to Daily Mix meaning that your phone tells the PC what to play... but when it get's to the end of your Daily Mix the PC doesn't know what to do as your phone is not 'technically' playing anything to populate additional tracks to the end of the mix.

I would say that this last post from Daniel is correct.  I experienced this last night while playing my Daily Mix through my Mac (using Connect).  Once it reached the end of the list the music stopped.  When I switched playback to mobile, the list repopulated and I was then able to switch playback over to my Mac again.

I can confirm that new songs are added when I don't stream to my pc. Your explanation sounds plausible 🙂

It also doesn't work when I'm listening on my phone without streaming to my pc.

Hope Spotify will soon fix this.

Nearly 2 years later and I'm currently experiencing this issue. It wasn't doing this before! It used to queue up new songs long before it reached the end of the mix.

Also, Spotify developers should note that the app is NOT STOPPING. It's HANGING. The last song still shows in the Spotify widget as playing, the pause symbol is showing up as if the app is still running. Therefore, you know the app is hung and it hasn't stopped.

Very unacceptable considering how long this has been a known issue as well as the fact that people are PAYING for this service!

Same issue here. I play the Daily Mixes when I drive, with Android Auto, and it's a big pain to have to look and poke around on a screen while driving to get a new mix going. I wonder if the guys at Spotify will ever fix this, amongst other issues they never addressed.
